No.103 "KYŌKANOKO MUSUME DŌJŌJI"
Kyōkanoko Musume Dōjōji, the 103rd installment of the pre-cut Architectural Model Series has arrived. Simply detach and assemble.
Costumes for the character Hanako have been launched as paper models in 1/100 scale. Hanako is a shirabyōshi dancer who appears in the famous kabuki play Kyōkanoko Musume Dōjōji (The Maiden at the Dōjōji Temple). She celebrates her feelings of love by repeatedly changing costumes under the cherry blossom trees.
"Kyōkanoko Musume Dōjōji" The Maiden at the Dōjōji Temple
Hanako came to Dōjōji Temple in Kii Province to pray at the newly cast bell. There, she danced as requested. Hanako represented her various loves, but in fact, she was the vengeful spirit of a girl who loved a monk so ardently that she reduced him to ashes.
The actual stage performance of Kyō Kanoko Musume Dōjōji features a single actor changing costumes eight times. It is not a performance in which nine actors wearing different costumes appear simultaneously, as depicted in the conceptual image. The figures are arranged side by side to make the overall concept easier to understand. Please note that this display does not represent the actual staging of the performance.
