From the flat surface of paper to three dimensions...
The 'fun of change' is the theme of 'gu-pa', a series of assembly kits created through the collaboration of paper craft artist Yasuyuki Wada and Fukunaga Print.
"TOP TO TAIL", released in 2017, is a paper model kit that carefully captures the form of an animal "from head to tail" using paper.
Simply assemble the pre-cut parts according to the instructions provided to create realistic-looking animals.
This kit's standout feature is its use of paper with textures similar to skin and fur. When you pick it up, you will forget that it is paper because it is reproduced so finely. In addition, the body parts are movable and can be posed to make the animals look alive.
The current lineup includes eight types: elephant, penguin, chimpanzee, polar bear, crocodile, zebra, giraffe and panda. Each animal has a unique personality and level of detail, and they look adorable when displayed together, making them highly collectible.
The package design with handles means it can be given as a gift as it is. Why not spend some quality time with paper that both adults and children can enjoy?
